Bloom.

Happy New Year!!!! Welcome to a brand new baby year! Can't you just see it? With it's arms open wide and ready to be loved? What are we going to pour into it this time? What new songs are we going to write on the blank pages of 2021?

I have certainly decided on a few songs that I am going to retire and never sing again. You know the old refrains like "I Can't,” "Who do I think I am to do that?" or "If it's not Perfect let's just not do it at all." There was also one that I noticed playing in the background that really startled me. "Why sing (dance, dream, create) at all? The world is broken and what's the use?" OY!!!

There are some thoughts, like songs, that get stuck in our head and play in the background like old software that needs to be updated. Often we don't even realize they are playing. So these old thoughts or songs need to be brought up from our unconscious and taken To THE DUMP!!!!

2020 was a year filled with fires, pandemics, rage and unrest. We faced a darkness that most of us never imagined. We faced more uncertainty, loss and death then ever and yet...WE ARE STILL HERE. In many ways, the year itself took old thoughts and ways of being to the Dump.

Then, just when we were loosing hope, a heavenly event brought new light into the night sky December 2020. According to astronomers at NASA the "Great Conjunction" (aka "The Christmas Star") last occurred 800 years ago in the night sky. The alignment of our 2 largest planets, Jupiter and Saturn, were as close as a tenth of a degree from each other creating what looked like a big star allowing nearly everyone around the world to witness this "Great Conjunction." A new heavenly light caused by two giants in our solar system coming together for the whole world to experience in the time of it's greatest darkness. Hmm...

What new lights have been awakened within you? I woke up New Year's Day to the bloom of an orchid that hadn't bloomed all year. I couldn't see any buds at all. I just kept watering it, nurturing it and singing to it all year. Even though it seemed "the world was broken and there was no use," and then....BLOOM. (Bloom also happened to be my word for 2020). I love how the universe talks to us.

As we face this brand new baby year together, let's choose to embrace it and pour all our love into it. That way, wherever we go in 2021, we will be walking into Love and a warm embrace.

Quote of the Day:

For last year’s words belong to last year’s language. And next year’s words await another voice.
— T.S Eliot

Affirmation of the Day:

There is new light awakening within me now.
